Mapufacture Help

Welcome to the Mapufacture help center. Where do you want to go today? No, really, do you want to go to New York, or perhaps Abu Dhabi, or even Wellington. Wherever you live, or want to go, Mapufacture can help you find out what's interesting.

Mapufacture can also help you get information where it needs to be. Perhaps you are a member of an Non-profit that wants to share information about an area you're helping - or a relief worker who wants to make it easier for people in the field to get the information that is useful to them when and where they need it.

Using Mapufacture

Mapufacture lets you build maps and data sets from data that is useful to you. We have gathered a huge amount of feeds and geospatial documents from the web. You can also add your own data to use in Mapufacture. To begin, create a new map and zoom in to your area of interest. Give your map a title, a description, and then save it. You can now add feeds, or data sources, to your maps. As you add feeds, the local items will show up on your map. You can also remove feeds that you've previously added. After you've setup the feeds for your map, save it.

You now have your map. Mapufacture will constantly update it with new information from the feeds you've chosen. You can also use your map in other applications by getting the GeoRSS or KML (useful for GoogleEarth) feeds using the icons. You can also embed any Mapufacture map by getting the snippet of HTML and putting it into your own website or blog. This will allow you to display localized Mapufacture maps in your own site.

Build your own applications with Mapufacture

Mapufacture includes a very complete API that allows developers to build their own applications around the Mapufacture system. Visit the developer page for more information on the API and examples.
